A rare opportunity has opened up to join our marketing team as Junior PR Assistant. We're looking for someone who understands what a PR role does in the digital age and also someone that lives and breathes fashion.
This job would suit someone who has a finger on the pulse of what is happening culturally in fashion, music and the art world and attends 1 – 2 events a week just cause they love immersing themselves in this world. This newly created role will be responsible for running General Pants' outreach program and can easily reel off what instagrammers, bloggers/ vloggers they think are right for different brands within our portfolio.
You will report to our PR Manager and work closely with our Design Director, Pip Edwards to:
Look after our PR Showroom
Manage PR call out process
Assist the team by liaising and dealing with Fashion media nationwide
Engage the media to see what they are working on to submit product and imagery
Assist in tracking press coverage and handle all press clippings
Assist with Financial management of client budgets
Assist in aspects of event management and coordination
To be on top of it in this role, you will need to have the following requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience in Fashion PR/Publicity or a social agency a plus not mandatory
Knowledge of Fashion editors, writers, bloggers and influencers
Experience with Fashion GPS sample management & showroom displays a plus
Bachelor degree in communications or similar is a plus
Knowledge of social media outlets, including Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram etc
Skilled in Microsoft Suite programs
Have fashion and retail industry knowledge as well as knowledge in pop culture and celebrities
Have an eye for trends and be able to create fashion stories that we can sell into magazines, bloggers, vloggers and instagrammers
Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, be highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks
Team player who can work in fast paced environment
Ability to think creatively, strategically, problem solve and deliver results quickly
